Somehow, over the weekend, I managed to catch a nasty cold. For all the rest and vitamins and Cold-FX I took, the cold become much more intensified. When I woke up this morning, I felt awful. I knew I had a very busy day ahead of me and that my canine friends depend on me to visit and take them out. As I was quite sick yet my dogs needed me, I contacted each of my customers to let them know that I completed a 15 minute walk/visit rather than the regularly scheduled time and that of course, each invoice would be reduced accordingly.
My customers' responses were so supportive. It is something that isn't often considered - there are no sick day benefits in this job :) - my doggy clients must be attended to regardless - no matter how sick I am feeling. It was great to see each dog today - it lifted my spirits despite feeling so poor. So thank you to my amazing customers and their canine pals for a good day overall. With much more rest and lots of vitamins I hope to be back to 100% tomorrow.
